Ask about dashboards
Dashboards, portals, internal tools and phone apps. Built, hosted and looked after by the person you talk to.
Quick answer
Alpine Studio, based in Queenstown, builds custom business software for NZ trade and service businesses, anywhere in the country. A business dashboard puts your numbers on one private page, from $4,499 then $79 a month. A client or job portal is where your customers, reps or crew sign in to get something done, from $7,499 then $99 a month. Either can be paid monthly instead, with nothing upfront, over 12 or 24 months: a dashboard from $473 or $276 a month, a portal from $756 or $428, then the normal monthly fee. It depends on the information you have ready, but a typical build takes about a week from an agreed scope.

How it works
Tell us what the job is, who does it now and what gets in the way. We ask questions until we both know what the first version has to do. On the phone or by email, whichever suits you.
You get a written scope and one fixed price before any work starts. Anything new that comes up along the way is quoted before it is built.
A first working version arrives early, on your own phone, and the rest is shaped around how you actually use it.
It runs on Cloudflare behind a secure sign-in. The person who built it hosts it and looks after it for a monthly fee.

FAQ
A business dashboard costs from $4,499 to build, then $79 a month. A client or job portal costs from $7,499, then $99 a month. You get a written scope and one fixed price before any work starts. Connecting to another system, such as accounts, bookings or stock, depends on what that system allows and is quoted as its own fixed price. Or pay monthly with nothing upfront, over 12 or 24 months: a dashboard from $473 a month for 12 months or $276 for 24 (totals from $5,676 or $6,624), a portal from $756 for 12 months or $428 for 24 (totals from $9,072 or $10,272), then $79 or $99 a month. Alpine Jobs, the job app our live demo builds, is $199 a month.
Yes. Instead of paying for the build upfront, you can pay a fixed monthly price over 12 or 24 months, your choice, with nothing to pay until the software goes live and the monthly fee included, paid automatically each month. A dashboard is from $473 a month for 12 months or $276 for 24; a portal from $756 or $428. Each price is the build split over the term plus 5%, rounded up to the dollar, plus the monthly fee, so it costs a little more in total than paying upfront. When the term ends it drops to the normal $79 or $99 a month. You can pay it off whenever you like, for the build price less what you have already paid towards it, and once a year you can push one month’s payment to the end of the plan at no charge. The software is licensed to you either way, and your data is yours.
Alpine Jobs is the job app our live demo builds, set up with your name, logo and colours, your services and your prices, for $199 a month with nothing upfront. It has a 12-month minimum, then runs month to month with 30 days’ notice. Changes beyond its settings are quoted before they are built, and a business that needs something built around the way it works gets a custom portal quote instead.
A business dashboard puts your numbers, such as bookings, revenue, repeat clients or jobs, on one private page behind a secure sign-in, easy to read on a phone. One running now shows a salon’s year of bookings, client retention and service revenue, refreshed from the booking system’s export.
A client or job portal, sometimes called a customer portal, is a private website your customers, reps or crew sign in to so they can get something done: place an order, apply for an account or check a job. Alpine Studio builds portals phone-first, behind a secure sign-in, with push notifications to phones, from $7,499, then $99 a month.
Hosting on Cloudflare behind a secure sign-in, and looking after the software, by the person who built it: security fixes, software updates, small fixes and ongoing maintenance. New features and bigger changes are quoted before they are built. It is $79 a month for a dashboard and $99 a month for a portal.
It depends on the information you have ready, but a typical dashboard or portal takes about a week from an agreed scope, and a first working version arrives early, on your own phone.
Yes. Try the live demo on this page: type your website and watch a working app build with your business name, logo and colours, filled with example data. Your own software is then scoped with you, at one fixed price agreed before any work starts.
Your data is yours, and you can have a copy of it whenever you ask. The software itself is licensed to you, so the parts every build shares can keep improving.
If one fits the way you work, yes: an off-the-shelf app is cheaper to start and does a lot well. Custom software earns its price when you pay for features you never use, or the job still runs across a spreadsheet, a whiteboard and a group chat. A dashboard or portal can also sit beside an app you already use, where that app allows a connection or an export.

No. Alpine Studio is Queenstown-based and works nationwide, with businesses anywhere in New Zealand by phone and video call. The live demo needs no meeting: type your website and watch it build.
Often, yes. It depends on what the other system allows: some offer a live connection, some only an export. We check before quoting, and each integration is priced on its own.
Yes. Everything is built phone-first, and it can be installed to the home screen like an app, with push notifications where they help.
Yes. That is what the scoping chat is for: we work out together what the first version has to do, and you get a fixed price for that before anything is built.
No. Software is its own job. If you want both, the same person builds them.
